Epstein-Barr Virus
Epstein-barr virus also known as EBV is a group of the herpes virus family.Epstein barr virus is the most common virus infection cause in human. The virus is the main cause of mononucleosis,a world wide disease affecting children and adult. According to statistics,there are around 95% of adults between 35 and 40 years of age have been infected with Epstein Barr Virus.Other than mononucleosis, Epstein-Bar Virus can be associated with some type of cancer, particularly Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Burkitt’s lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and central nervous system lymphomas associated with HIV.
How to Diagnose Epstein-Barr Virus Infection
Clinical diagnosis based on triad symptoms of EBV infections ie fever, pharyngitis, and lymphadenopathy which lasting for 1 to 4 weeks.
